She's No Common Crow

On Stage

In the 12 years since Raven Gemini first stepped on a burlesque stage, she’s realized two things: first, she’s an acquired taste. Second, and most importantly, she is a taste definitely worth acquiring. Her acts are esoteric and always alluring. Her aim as a performer is to inspire you to learn something new every day, and to use her abundant natural charm and powers of persuasion to do so.

Raven Gemini’s Repertoire

A Space-Age Fantasy

Raven Gemini’s signature act. A duet with Monterrey Jacques to Lou Reed’s Ride Sally Ride. Take a ride on the space shuttle into a zero-gravity dream ballet.

The Man With the Golden Arm

Inspired by the Otto Preminger film (and Frank Sinatra vehicle) by the same name, Raven takes the stage as the heroin-induced dreamgirl of Frankie Machine. Beautiful and alluring, yet lurid and capricious, she’ll leave you in withdrawal.

Trouble Every Day

Another act with a film to thank for it, Trouble Every Day is Raven’s “tribute to art-house cinema”. The act is a meditation on loving someone (or something) while already knowing the futility of doing so. The joy of emotion, mixed with the taste of blood in your mouth. Set to The Tindersticks’ Trouble Every Day.

Mme. Curie, If You’re Nasty

A 7-minute slow-burn juggernaut set to Kraftwerk’s Radioactivity, Marie winds down after another successful day in the lab. Unfortunately, it just seems to be so hot. Features Raven’s famous fan-dancing skills.

Margarita

Take a tropical vacation with this peppy, refreshing cocktail of an act. Set to a mix of Elvis’ Fun in Acapulco and Herb Alpert’s Green Peppers.
